Tulela is an exclusive-use safari lodge offering exceptional comfort and luxury to families and friends in a private location in the Kalserie Reserve, Greater Kruger Park. The setting of the lodge gives guests a place to relax comfortably and connect with their wild and wonderful surroundings, reawakening a connection to nature. The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is a protected wilderness and cherishes a low tourism density, offering a private and personalised wildlife experience.

The five-bedroomed lodge is designed to reflect the natural colours and textures of the surrounding bush, while offering a high level of luxury and comfort to guests. A spacious central living area welcomes festive mealtimes under the trees, fireside chatter after dark, and playful afternoons at the swimming pool, which has an uninterrupted view of the waterhole.

A fully furnished kitchen, easily accessible fridges and a coffee bar offer refreshments at any time, while a private chef will prepare meals according to your schedule. Tulela is equipped with top-of-the-range amenities and products to make guests’ experience as pleasurable as possible.

Tulela can host 10 guests in five luxurious bedrooms and has a spacious, central living area, which draws people together around the rim-flow swimming pool, fire pit, and experiential dining area. The lodge features an “amphitheatre” that invites wildlife to drink at a waterhole positioned in full view of the lodge so that you can sit back, relax, and watch as nature’s stories unfold around you.

Tulela boasts five luxuriously appointed rooms, two of which have an interleading door and double as a family suite. Three are positioned overlooking the riverbed and two have a view of the waterhole. Each room leads into an en-suite bathroom with double vanity, indoor shower and bath tub, and an outdoor shower in a space shared by green plants with open sky and trees overhead.

Let Tulela set up a special picnic at a perfect spot in the bush – under a huge jackalberry tree affectionately known as Big Jack. In an open clearing in the shade of this big, evergreen tree, a layout with a feast is provided with light a welcoming campfire. Enjoy champagne on ice, and have the chef cook up a sizzling breakfast spread.

Explore the Klaserie on foot
Get familiar with the bush and see tracks and signs in detail on an interpretive bush walk. Whether it’s a short child-friendly exploration along the riverbed with your guide and tracker, or a three-hour-long guided walking safari through the reserve, this immersive experience is a fantastic way to deepen your connection with the nature around you.

Kid-friendly itineraries
Kids activities are tailored to suit different seasons, children’s ages and preferences, and can be personalised for guests’ unique safari schedules. There is a range of activities catering for ages two to 16 that will suit those who are adventurous and curious about the bush, or those who like to engage their creative sides.
