Anabezi safari camp is situated on the Eastern End of the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia forming part of the Lower Zambezi– Mana Pools Trans Frontier Conservation area. Established within one of the world’s most prolific pockets of environmental endowment spanning 1,750,000-hectares this Eden of the African wilderness is a big game mecca and one of the worlds’s last remaining untouched natural landscapes home to Africa’s big namely lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and hippo as well as many other wildlife species and birds.
Exceptional game viewing is assured and morning drives reveal the Zambezi’s diurnal inhabitants – buffalo, elephant, zebra and an array of antelope as they traverse the Mopane forest. On an afternoon excursion, you could stumble across a lazy pride of lion in the throes of a heavy daytime nap.
As the evening descends over the Lower Zambezi and the fire-pit glows we invite you to immerse yourself in the African dusk, share a sundowner and your stories of the bush with fellow visitors.
Designed for comfort and luxury in an authentic African setting, Anabezi offers twelve luxurious tented suites. These secluded spaces are havens of relaxation, each one equipped with an indoor bathroom, private deck and plunge pool. The rooms are connected to the main camp areas by raised wooden walkways, in consideration of the free-roaming wildlife with which we share the landscape.
Communal guest areas boast two spacious lounge and dining areas, raised above the bush on wooden decks to allow the resident game to roam naturally around the grounds. The living and dining areas stretch seamlessly towards an infinity pool that overlooks the magnificent Zambezi River, the Mushika riverbed and the wildlife that traverse its watery deltas.
Each tent boasts:
South African Airways operates several flights daily from Johannesburg to Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Lusaka. Alternatively, Emirates flies into Lusaka once daily from Dubai; Turkish Airlines from Istanbu; Ethiopian Airlines from Addis Ababa; Kenya Airways from Nairobi; RwandAir from Kigali; and Air Namibia from Windhoek.
From Lusaka it is just a short half hour’s flight by Cessna Caravan to Jeki airstrip in the Lower Zambezi National Park. There are three daily scheduled flights with Proflight or other charter airlines which connect to any international flight arriving before 15h30 in Lusaka. From Jeki it’s a two-hour game drive transfer to camp. Alternately, we can arrange a private charter to our nearby Kulefu airstrip, a twenty-minute drive from camp.
As day turns to night, the big cats emerge from their slumber and begin the hunt. With the arrival of dusk, the prospect of catching them in action will take your breath away. On a night drive, you may also encounter hyena, porcupine, aardvark, civet, genet, or perhaps a Verreaux’s Giant Eagle Owl.
This remote location ensures your sightings will be private and truly special, allowing you to completely immerse yourself in each intimate encounter. For your safety all four-person game drive vehicles have been newly designed for your safety and comfort.
Marvel at the Zambezi wildlife from the comfort of your own private deck. Our spacious luxury safari camp designer tents are perfectly positioned for game viewing. Raised above the earth on wooden decks, our rooms evoke luxurious solitude and relaxation against the mesmerising landscape of the Zambezi.
Anabezi safari camp offers diverse land and water-based activities which include mesmerizing game drives, tranquil river cruises, exciting fishing expeditions, canoe trips down the Zambezi’s quiet and secluded channels, wilderness walks accompanied by an experienced scout, and spectacular birding excursions.
